THREAT TO LIFE : THE GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE HAS JUST THREATENED THE LIFE OF PETER OBI

With reference to the unguided statements made by the Edo state Governor , his excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, at a rally in EDO STATE , Comrade Okorie Samuel (Engr.) , the National Secretary of the ORGANISATION FOR HUMAN AND PEOPLE'S RIGHTS PROTECTION AND HUMANITARIAN, has reacted that the EDO STATE Governor's statement amounts to threat to the life of Mr Peter Obi.

The Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo declared that the security of the erstwhile Anambra State Governor and Presidential aspirant , Mr Peter Obi , was not guaranteed if he (Mr Peter Obi)decides to visit the state again without his (the Edo State Governor's) permission. This is a very unguided statement coming from a sitting Governor.

FIRSTLY, this amounts to THREAT TO LIFE.

SECONDLY, the EDO STATE Governor is attempting to infringe on some the fundamental human rights (like right to freedom of movement , right to freedom from descrimination, right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association, right to liberty, right to freedom of expression and press , etc ) of Mr Peter Obi as entrenched in the CONSTITUTION of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the preamble of the charter to the UNITED NATIONS, the African Charter on Human and People's Rights and the International Human Rights Laws

Mr Peter Obi is a private individual and a law abiding citizen and as such , has the right ,(as guaranteed by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the aforementioned international charters), to go anywhere he pleases , without the permission of anybody.

Nobody has the right to restrict Mr Peter Obi's movement anywhere in the country. Except the Governor of EDO STATE Governor wants to tell us that EDO STATE is not part of Nigeria. Hence , Mr Peter Obi will need to seek his(the EDO STATE Governor's) permission in the form of a visa to be able to enter EDO STATE.

The EDO STATE Governor made this ststement under the guise that Mr Peter Obi donated over #15m to the Nursing School during his visit which caused a stampede. But i want to believe that his Excellency(the EDO STATE Governor) , made those statements out of party SENTIMENTS and AFFILIATIONS.
My reason stems from some more underlying statements of the Governor that the man (Mr Peter Obi) said he doesn't have shishi so where did he the money he donated to the Nursing School? And that Peter Obi should be called upon to answer to where he got the money from. What a ridiculous demand ? This very statement obviously depicts party SENTIMENTS and AFFILIATIONS.

Mr Peter Obi is a renowned and astute business tycoon of many decades. He has all the shishis and every shishi to dole out when he decides to. But he said he doesn't have any shishi to give to buy votes in the last general elections. That very statement became the widespread slogan of the OBIDIENTS in the last general elecions.

In otherwords, and from my humble perspective, the Edo State Governor sees Mr Peter Obi as a threat in the forth coming general elections so he is trying to cow Mr Peter Obi to steer clear from EDO STATE by that threatening statement but it was really unguided.

Hence, should Mr Peter Obi decide to visit EDO state anytime in the nearest future and anything untoward happens to him, the Governor of EDO STATE (Senator Monday Okpebholo) should be called upon to answer .

Therefore, we call on our President, his Excellency , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to as a matter of urgency , use his good and hallowed office to wield into this threat from the Edo State Governor before it gets out of hand. The EDO STATE Governor should be called to order.
