OMO-AGEGE ACHIEVEMENT: A CHALLENGE TO IJAW
A Niger Delta born environmentalist and Peace advocate Comrade Mulade Sheriff has commended the Deputy Senate President, His Excellency, Barr Ovie Omo-Agege for standing firm for Deltans particularly his immediate constituency, Delta central senatorial district and for his recent achievement of recovering the Abraka constituency that got Senate approval
In the same vain, a Niger Delta group, Progressive Niger Delta Youth Forum have expressed disappointment at their Ijaw political leaders over what they described as a docile attitude, poor and unproductive representation and selfish politics of amassing wealth to keep recycling themselves to political offices without recourse to attracting development, improvement, modernity and upgrade to their communties.
In a statement by the publicity Secretary, Comrade Ebipade Fedeke on Friday in Burutu, said, few years of Senator Omo-Agege in the national assembly, apart from rising to the position of the Deputy Senate President of the Nigeria, he has been able to lobby for the Development of his people.
Ebipade noted that Abraka with just two wards, now get a constituency, this should be a wake-up call for Ijaw political leaders to venture into productive representation and leadership.
He further add that Ijaw Politicians, Lawmakers should be challenged and lobby for developments and growth.
Chief Mulade Sheriff further calls on Ijaw political leaders to be more proactive in order to attract legacy developmental projects to their areas that will stand the thirst of time to immortalized them. he appeal to lawmakers from Ijaws to intensify lobbying and work adder for the separation of Warri North and Warri South West constituency to enable the Ijaws and Itsekiri have independent representatives to avoid ethnic tensions during every elections in the State, adding that Ijaw areas are too large to be condensed into and we deserve more wards and local government areas
He strongly advised Ijaw politicians to desist from playing politics with the development of the Ijaw areas adding that they is no other better time than now for the Ijaw ethnic nationality to move forward.
