CDHR MOURN ODUMAKIN
Another Nightfall in the Human Rights Movement in Nigeria: CDHR Mourn Odumakin
The President of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Comrade (Dr.) Osagie Obayuwana has expressed, in palpable grief, the shocking death of yet another devoted Human Rights crusader, Pro-democracy icon and defender of the people, Comrade Olayinka Odumakin who has just passed away at 59. This is a rude shock and a sure devastation to the Civil Society and Human Rights Communities.
Yinka Odumakin has been a regular analyst, commentator, advocate, activist and social reformer who has committed his energy, time and resources to the fight for social justice, good governance, liberty and fundamental freedom. Yinka always spoke out his mind in loud conviction with resolve to persuade Government and public leadership to be accountable to the people.
For his family, especially his wife, Dr. Joe Odumakin, our prayer is that God will give you the fortitude to carry on. May the soul of the departed Comrade rest in peace.
