EFCC Where are You? Former Delta Governor Okowa Should Answer for his sins
Comrades Steve Luke of the Center for Human Rights and Public Complaints, (CHRPC) has lamented that Delta State been reduced to nothing by the former Governor, Okowa, a champion borrower, Calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate him.
Fear of falling out of favour of former Governor Okowa kept prominent Deltans including traditional rulers in silence despite the terrible administrative imbalance that characterised Okowa's admministration.
Under their their nose, Okowa plunged Delta State into debts, reduced the state to headquarters of hardship, 'Agbero, Keke ridding, prostitution industrial death and a physically dirty State where things works abnormally
More painful is the fact that Okowa handed over an empty state to Sheriff Oborevwori. let me quote SaharaReporters, "Barely a week to the end of his second term in office, the Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has reportedly compelled the 25 local government council chairmen under the umbrella of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, (ALGON), to take N40billion loans from a bank".
more shameful is the fact that Okowa was a governor who dig holes to block holes, borrowing to pay debts and claim that borrowing will offset the backlog of debts owed retired primary schools teachers and local government workers in the state.
The question at this point is that will Deltans allow Okowa to walk away if he has systematically looted the state.
