Delta State Government Should stop Borrowing, The State Is Not A Loan App
The Delta State chairman of Center For Human Right And Public Complians (CHRPC) Comrade Ejiro Steve Unukpo said that, It was surprising that the Delta state House of assembly has approved a whopping sum of ₦40billion loans for the state governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The borrowing shows that there are no funds in the States treasury hence, the immediate past governor Dr Ifeayin Okowa handed over an empty treasury to current governor Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. The last two loans (money) Okowa borrowed was approved by the current state governor when he was a speaker then and the same legacy is still continuing hence, It is so very clear that there was a total lack of accountability and integrity in the immediate past administration to the current one, which boils down to the fact that Delta state House of Assembly is functioning like a business organ established to service every seating governor(s).
