NIGERIA MUST GO PROTEST : GHANAIANS SHOULD BE CAUTIONED FOR THE LAST TIME. NIGERIANS ARE NOT CRIMINALS
By Comrade Okorie Samuel (Engr.)
Inspite of the call on the President of Ghana , Mr John Dramani Mahama , by one of the foremost Rights Organisations in Nigeria , the ORGANISATION FIR HUMAN AND PEOPLE'S RIGHTS PROTECTION AND HUMANITARIAN (OHPRPH) , through its National Secretary(Comrade Okorie Samuel) , on the 20th of July 2025 , to caution Ghanaians on the postponed NIGERIA MUST GO protest, Ghanaians still went ahead to stage the same protest against Nigerian living in Ghana on Saturday 26th July 2025.
The protest was staged at the popular Obra Spot under the illusive pretext that Nigerian Nationals are behind the increasing levels of crime and social vices in Ghana.
Thousands of Ghanaiane took to the streets of Accra, Ghana's capital city on Saturday 26th July 2025 in a massive protest demanding the immediate expulsion of Nigerians from Ghana.
In a statement reiterated by the National Secretary of OHPRPH ,Comrade Okorie Samuel , the Organization expressed it's dismay that Ghana is beginning to be arbitrary and obnoxious to Nigeria and this is definitely going g to strain the Ghana - Nigeria relationship and brotherhood if not handled promptly and with caution.
Ghana and Nigeria share a long history of cultural, Economic and social ties. Apart from that , Nigerians have rights protected by the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION ON HUMAN RIGHTS. Hence OHPRPH remains committed to advocating for HUMAN RIGHTS and protecting all individuals , irrespective of their nationalities.
Nigerians have mammoth investmenets amd properties in Ghana ad as such shouldn't be deprived their rights to their investments and properties. The Ghanaian President should remember the deep economic times between both countries.
Therefore , OHPRPH implore the Presiden of Ghana to intervene as a matter of urgency to curb the imminent XENOPHOBIC TENSION we are perceiving now before it gets out of hands.
The relationship between Ghana and Nigeria could be strained over lack of appreciation on the part of Ghana for the significant contribution of Nigeria and Nigerians to the economic well-being of Ghana.
