Chief Kome Okpobor should refrain from making statements suggesting that there is no distinction between old APC members and new APC members.

The Convener of No Jobman for Governor 2023, Comrade Steven Luke, has criticized Chief Kome Okpobor, the Finance Director of DESOPAdOC, over his recent statement that there are no new or old APC members and that “everyone is one” in the party.

Speaking with newsmen in Warri, Comrade Steven described the claim as misleading, arguing that individuals who recently defected from the PDP cannot simply assume leadership positions in the APC without acknowledging and respecting long-standing members who have worked and sacrificed for the growth of the party.
He maintained that party loyalty and commitment over the years should not be disregarded. According to him, members who have laboured for the party since the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari deserve recognition and fairness, rather than being sidelined by new entrants.

Comrade Steven further warned that replacing established party leaders with recent defectors during congresses could create internal conflict and deepen divisions within the party. He stressed that removing party faithful from office in favour of new members may provoke dissatisfaction that could lead to serious repercussions.

He concluded that such actions, if not properly managed, could generate political tensions that may be difficult for even the Delta State Governor to resolve
