Hon. Ferguson Onwo Should Stop the Lies — Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Did Not Promise Him Speakership

The Convener of No Jobman for Governor 2023, Comrade Steven Luke, has criticized Ferguson Onwo, the member representing Isoko South Constituency II, over what he described as false claims and unfulfilled promises made to the people.

Speaking to journalists on February 19, Comrade Steven Luke stated that the people of Isoko South Constituency II are fully aware that Hon. Ferguson Onwo has failed to deliver on the campaign promises he made during the 2023 general election.
Comrade Steven further alleged that Hon. Onwo now has nothing new to offer the people and is instead invoking the name of the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, by claiming that the Governor has promised to support his emergence as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly if re-elected next year.

He described this as the same strategy allegedly used during the 2023 campaign, where Hon. Onwo reportedly told constituents that he would become Speaker or, at least, Majority Leader due to his experience in the House.

According to Comrade Steven Luke, it came as a surprise to many that after the election, Hon. Ferguson Onwo remained an ordinary member of the House without holding any principal office.

Comrade Steven concluded by urging the people of Isoko South Constituency II to carefully examine the performance records of their representatives before casting their votes in the next election.
