No Jobman 2023 Convener, Comrade Steven Luke, Blasts Hon. Ferguson Onwo Over Third-Term Bid
The Convener of No Jobman 2023, Comrade Steven Luke, has strongly criticized the member representing Isoko South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ferguson Onwo, over his alleged bid to return for another term.
Speaking with newsmen in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Steven Luke said that Hon. Ferguson Onwo cannot deceive the people of Isoko South Constituency II again with what he described as “recycled promises and unfulfilled campaign claims.”
According to him, Hon. Onwo, who has represented the constituency for eight years, has not delivered meaningful development to justify another term in office. He argued that eight years is enough for any lawmaker who has failed to make significant impact.
Comrade Steven further stated that posting pictures of renovated classrooms and school fencing should not be presented as major achievements, adding that such projects fall short of the expectations of the people who voted him into office in 2023.
He emphasized that the people of Isoko South Constituency II are more politically aware and will not be misled by what he described as “empty promises.” He also dismissed claims that Hon. Onwo, being one of the longest-serving members of the Delta State House of Assembly, could be made Speaker, insisting that leadership positions should be based on performance and not tenure alone.
Comrade Steven Luke concluded by urging the constituents to critically assess their representative’s performance before making future electoral decisions.
