Delta State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Should Put His House In Order And Take Proactive Steps To Prevent What Happened In Osun State From Happening In Delta State In 2027.

The Convener of No Jobman for Governor 2023, Comrade Steven Luke, has called on the Delta State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to put his house in order now that there is still enough time ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Comrade Steven Luke made the call while speaking with newsmen today in Uvwie Local Government Area. He said the recent developments witnessed during the Osun State governorship election, where the people stood their ground to ensure that their votes counted, should serve as a serious lesson for political leaders in Delta State.

According to him, Governor Oborevwori should call his appointees and party executives to order and find out whether the people at the grassroots are truly feeling the impact of the various empowerment programmes and initiatives of his administration.

He urged the governor to ensure that the benefits of his empowerment programmes reach the people in their various communities, stressing that political appointments should not be used to oppress or intimidate the masses.

Comrade Steven Luke further noted that despite the presence of governors, ministers, senators and other prominent political leaders in Osun State to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, the outcome of the election showed the importance of listening to the wishes and aspirations of the people.

He said the Osun experience should be carefully studied by the Delta State Government, adding that those entrusted with political appointments in the state must do more to help Governor Sheriff Oborevwori deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

He concluded by urging the governor to take the necessary steps now, while there is still time, to strengthen his administration's relationship with the people and ensure that the voices and needs of ordinary Deltans are given proper attention ahead of 2027.
