Chief Daniel Omoyibo (AKA DANMOTECH) Should Not Play One-Sided Politics Across Isoko Land in the Name of Delivering APC 5/5

The Convener of No Jobman for Governor 2023, Comrade Steven Luke, has criticized Chief Daniel Omoyibo, popularly known as Danmotech, over his recent call on the people of Isokoland to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Recent reports quoted Chief Omoyibo as urging Isoko people at home and in the diaspora to close ranks and support the APC, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas ahead of the 2027 elections.

Reacting to the development, Comrade Steven Luke, who spoke while in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, said Chief Daniel Omoyibo is a good man who is well known across Delta State and has contributed to the development of society. However, he argued that Omoyibo should not use his respected position to call on the entire Isoko people to support one political party.

According to Luke, the future of Isokoland should not be reduced to partisan politics. He maintained that issues such as development, good governance, accountability, employment opportunities, quality healthcare, education and other dividends of democracy should remain the major concerns of the people.

“Chief Daniel Omoyibo is a good man and a respected son of Isoko. But this is not the time to ask the entire Isoko people to support one political party. Isoko people are entitled to their individual political choices, and nobody should be made to feel like an enemy simply because they support a different political party,” Luke said.

Comrade Steven further appealed to Chief Omoyibo to place the broader interests of Isokoland above partisan politics and continue using his influence to attract meaningful development to the area.

He said that political differences should not divide the people of Isoko, stressing that elderly people, women, youths and other members of the community should be free to make their own political decisions without intimidation or pressure.
Luke added that Chief Omoyibo could make a greater contribution to Isokoland by focusing on initiatives that promote development, unity, employment and improved living conditions for the people, irrespective of their political affiliations.

He concluded by calling on Isoko sons and daughters to put the collective interest of the region first and engage in political discussions based on issues, policies, accountability and development rather than treating political party affiliation as a measure of loyalty to Isokoland.
