Instead The Deputy Speaker Of Delta State: Chief Arthur AKPOWOWO To Showing The People Of Ethiope East His Scorecard, He's Running To The Eku Traditional Council?

The Convener of No Jobman for Governor 2023, Comrade Steven Luke, has criticized the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Arthur Akpowowo, for allegedly running to the Eku Traditional Council of Elders to appeal to them to prevail on the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Chief Hon. Aghwarianovwe Novwe Ikie, to allow him to return as Deputy Speaker of the House.

Comrade Steven Luke, who was in Eku, said that if Chief Arthur Akpowowo had performed well as Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly during his first tenure, his achievements and impact would have spoken for him, rather than requiring him to campaign extensively for the support of the people.

According to Comrade Steven Luke, the good people of Ethiope East are asking the Deputy Speaker to present his scorecard and tell them what he has achieved for the people of the constituency.

He questioned how many sons and daughters of Ethiope East have benefited from employment opportunities through his representation, as well as what meaningful empowerment programmes or projects he has brought to the people that would give them enough confidence to trust him with their votes again.

Comrade Steven Luke further stated that the people of Ethiope East are now demanding accountability and want the Deputy Speaker to clearly demonstrate the impact he has made during his time in the Delta State House of Assembly.

He said the people deserve to know how their representative has contributed to improving their lives, creating opportunities for young people, and bringing meaningful development to Ethiope East.

Rather than running from one traditional council to another to seek support for another term, let the Deputy Speaker come before the people and present his scorecard. Let him tell the people of Ethiope East what he has done with the mandate they gave him, Comrade Steven Luke said.

He maintained that political office holders should be judged by their achievements, accountability, and the positive impact they have made in the lives of the people they represent.
